BMW X5 X5
| | Model of the car: | BMW X5 X5 | | | General comments: | If the car had not caused me so much initial irritation and time waisting being in the shop 4 times, to date, I would think the car was reasonable value. However, since it is a new car, there were no negotiations on the retail price. I would suggest waiting at least 6 months until the new V6 comes out - not doubt the competition will help with some deductions in price. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | I have owened the car for 8 weeks and it has been in the shop 4 times for the same problem - intermittent remote locking problem. An additional related concern is that the doors do not lock automatically after driving off and I feel this is a safety issue. Does the locking system tie in with the airbags? The car is currently at the dealer(7 consecutive days, so far) and a solution is not yet in sight. BMW tech dept. think it is a antenna frequency problem - I live in a large city with lots of radio waves. However, my Audi 8 does not have this problem. I await a solution, though I am doubtful it can be solved. I have yet to hear from BMW HQ to see if they will refund | | | Previous car: | Range Rover was a consideration - but I decided it was too big. |
