BMW X5

 Model of the car:BMW X5
General comments:I purchased an X5 for my wife thinking it was one of the safest vehicles on the road. Boy, was I wrong. The vehicle has completely shut down on us 4 times in the 3 months since we purchased it, stranding our family for hours in the process. (And BMW Roadside assistance is a joke!) The gas guage will unexplicably go to zero at any time, but that's the least of our problems. Not knowing when the car will shut down completely in the middle of traffic (or the middle of nowhere) has left us no option but to re-sell this lemon with full disclosure at a significant loss. The sales executives at 3 Rivers BMW won't even return our calls, and always seems to be out of the office when we are there to pick up the vehicle after service, which is a weekly event. Even though we have the same symptoms with every visit, they always classify it as a different problem, presumably to avoid the lemon laws. This was the worst car purchase of my life. And with the dealer treatment I received, I will never purchase another BMW, even after the good experiences I've had with the 5 and 7 series.
What things have gone wrong with the car:Too many to mention. The word LEMON comes to mind. If reliability is a priority to you, then don't buy an X5. This is a high priced lemon.
Previous car:BMW 528, Traded up from a Dodge Durango, and never thought I'd say this...but we really miss the Durango.
